Full Line Stencils™ require very little care. They are tough and can be transferred countless times. If they begin to get a little “dusty” from the chalk, use a damp cloth to clean them. A dry Microfiber towel also works well. If you’re using the Ultimate Pounce Powder, you can even iron them to clean them up! Be sure to clean them if switching chalk colors. You don’t want to heat set the blue when you’re ironing off the white.
What’s the best way to store Full Line Stencils? Store flat or roll. However, our standard size and smaller stencils slip into inexpensive sheet protectors and can be kept in a binder. Pants hangers work great, too; hang the hanger on a nail on the wall to keep them out of your way yet still within easy reach.
Full Line Stencils™ all work the same. There is no right or wrong side; you just position them, swipe the Pounce pad over the top, lift them off, and sew!

FAQs
1. What is the Ultimate Marking Pencil used for?
It’s your go-to fabric marker for dark fabrics, especially when you’re quilting, sewing, or crafting. It’s perfect for freehand layout lines, extending pattern boundaries, or filling in any faint spots after you've pounced a stencil design.
2. Does it show up well on dark fabrics?
It sure does! That’s actually its specialty. It lays down bright, crisp, easy-to-see lines on deep colors and dark prints so you never have to strain your eyes while stitching. When you're done, a quick pass with an iron makes the marks disappear.
3. How do I remove the pencil marks?
Just press them away with an iron. The marks vanish with heat once your stitching is complete. Because every fabric blend and finish behaves a little differently, we always recommend doing a quick test on a scrap or hidden corner first.
4. Can I draw through a Full Line Stencil with this pencil?
No, the pencil isn't made to trace through the mesh of our stencils. Our Full Line Stencils work best paired with a Pounce Pad and chalk powder to transfer the whole pattern in seconds. Keep the Ultimate Marking Pencil handy to touch up lines, connect motifs, or sketch your own registration marks outside the stencil.
5. Can I use it for everyday sewing and garment making?
Definitely, while quilters swear by it, it works great for darts, hems, pocket placements, and alterations on dark apparel fabrics. Just remember to swatch-test on a scrap of your garment fabric first to ensure it presses out cleanly.
6. Will it dry out if I leave the cap off?
Not at all. Unlike liquid or felt-tip markers that dry up right when you need them most, this is a traditional solid core pencil. It’s always ready to use, even if it’s been sitting in your sewing drawer for months.
7. Does it take refills?
Nope, no fussy cartridges or refills needed. Just sharpen it with a standard pencil sharpener whenever you need a fresh, crisp point, and keep stitching until it's down to the nub.
