This is a great question from a customer submitted through our "Questions, Comments and Suggestions" link at the top of every weekly newsletter. 

"I purchased stencil 30328, 4-Corner Feather. I plan to use it in individual blocks on my quilt. There are no marks on the stencil, so how do I center it in the block? The blocks are dark, and I can't see them through the stencil."

 I thought this was a great question and I'm sure others have wondered the same thing. That's why it's here in our blog section. We are always here to help! 

My solution below was the first thing that came to mind. There may be other ways to do it, but this method is simple and accurate, and it will work with virtually any stencil and quilt block.

Since I wasn't planning this ahead of time, I grabbed a quilt top from my UFO pile made with dark fabrics. It isn't the exact stencil I'd normally use on this quilt, but it demonstrates the technique perfectly.

(I finger-pressed the stencil to find its center.)
